Tiny House in Cabeceiras de Basto, Noord-Portugal.
Het tiny house (doopnaam Cabana da Sara) is door onszelf ontworpen en gemaakt en daarbij kwam duurzaamheid op de eerste plaats. We gebruikten zoveel mogelijk ecologische materialen zoals thermowood, leem, houtwol-isolatie, lokaal hout (bv. kastanje uit ons eigen bos), leemverf en ecologische houtolie. We kozen voor veel ramen zodat de natuur altijd dichtbij is ook al zit je gezellig binnen.
De Cabana is heel goed geïsoleerd en voorzien van infraroodverwarming, een aangename en welgekomen warmte tijdens de soms kille Noord-Portugese winters. Er is geen airco.
Het huisje staat op onze weide, onderaan ons terrein. Je bent omringd door groen en stilte.
Je kan je auto parkeren aan het begin van de weide, maar niet vlakbij. Van de parkeerplek tot het huisje is het nog 50 m te voet.
Het tiny house is voorzien van een volledig uitgerust keukentje met een 4-pits fornuis en koelkast. Er is geen (microgolf)oven.
In de slaapkamer kan het tweepersoonsbed ook uiteengeschoven worden tot twee aparte bedden.
De zuivering van het afvalwater gebeurt net zoals bij ons eigen huis op ecologische wijze. Een rietveld zuivert en filtert het water vooraleer het terug de natuur in stroomt. Om het natuurlijke zuiveringsproces van de planten te helpen gebruiken we zoveel mogelijk biologisch afbreekbare zepen, shampoos, detergenten en schoonmaakmiddelen.
Je kan het tiny house voor één of twee personen reserveren het hele jaar door.

Cabana da Sara
We designed and built our tiny house according to our taste and (ecological) standards. Sustainability was our priority. We made use of natural materials such as clay, local wood (f.e. a chestnut tree from our forest), thermowood and ecological paint.
The bungalow is very well insulated and has an infra-red heating system. This will provide a pleasant and comfortable warmth during the chilly Northern Portuguese winters. There is no airconditioning.
The tiny house lies 50m from the spot where you can park your car.
You are surrounded by nature and silence on our meadow.
There’s a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge and a stove (4-pits). There is no (microwave)oven.
You can opt for a double bed or two single ones.
As at our own house, the tiny house also has a natural waste water treatment system to minimise the impact on the surroundings. We use biodegradable soap, shampoo, dishwashing liquid and cleaning products as much as possible in order to help the plants in the reed bed to purify the water.
You can book our tiny house for one or two people all year round.
